Abstract


Latar beakang: Diabetes melitus merupakan penyakit metabolik kronis yang memerlukan pendekatan pengelolaan yang aman dan berkelanjutan. Jantung pisang kepok kuning (Musa paradisiaca Linn.) mengandung senyawa bioaktif yang berpotensi dikembangkan sebagai pangan fungsional antidiabetes. Tujuan: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi kandungan fitokimia serta mengevaluasi aktivitas antidiabetes flakes tepung jantung pisang kepok kuning pada mencit yang diinduksi streptozotocin. Metode: Penelitian eksperimental in vivo dilakukan menggunakan mencit jantan yang dibagi menjadi kelompok kontrol normal, kontrol negatif (Na-CMC), kontrol positif (glibenklamid), serta kelompok perlakuan flakes dengan konsentrasi 12,5%, 25%, dan 50%. Induksi diabetes dilakukan menggunakan streptozotocin. Parameter yang diamati meliputi skrining fitokimia dan perubahan kadar glukosa darah selama 14 hari. Data dianalisis secara deskriptif kuantitatif. Hasil: Skrining fitokimia menunjukkan bahwa tepung dan flakes jantung pisang mengandung flavonoid, tanin/saponin, kumarin, dan senyawa fenolik. Secara deskriptif, pemberian flakes tepung jantung pisang menunjukkan penurunan kadar glukosa darah pada mencit terinduksi streptozotocin, dengan kecenderungan efek yang lebih baik pada konsentrasi 25% dan 50%. Simpulan: Flakes tepung jantung pisang kepok kuning berpotensi sebagai pangan fungsional pendukung dalam pengelolaan diabetes melitus.
